Job Description
Your Mission
This is a company built for growth, not comfort.
When you join exmox, you’re stepping onto a global, highly competitive playing field - solving real problems in environments that push you beyond your comfort zone.
We build high-performing consumer products across multiple brands in one of the most competitive industries there is: mobile gaming. You will be part of a company that is on a path of hyper-growth, spearheading one of the largest innovations in the mobile gaming industry - rewarded user acquisition. Analysts in this team are deployed as domain generalists; expected to absorb new business contexts quickly and move fluidly across commercial, product, and financial questions depending on where the highest-impact need is.
At exmox, data is at the center of how we grow. It informs strategy, drives profitability, and powers the decisions that move the business forward. As part of the Senior Data Analyst (f/m/x) - Strategy & Inisghts, you will work at the intersection of finance, commercial strategy, and performance, partnering closely with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Growth, and Finance.
Whether your focus is advertiser and revenue analytics, marketing and consumer analytics, or financial and profitability analytics, you will turn complex data into strategic insights and measurable business impact.
If you are excited by solving complex business problems and influencing strategy through data in a high-performance environment, this role offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact from day one.
What You’ll Own:
- Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Track and analyze performance across commercial, product, and financial dimensions including campaign metrics, traffic quality, revenue, and profitability adapting analytical focus to wherever decision support is most needed.
- Decision Partnership & Insights: Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Finance leadership to prioritize initiatives, model commercial and financial impact, enable campaign optimization, budget allocation, support new business decisions, and deliver clear performance narratives that connect operational metrics to business outcomes.
- Problem Framing: Convert ambiguous business questions from stakeholders into structured analytical investigations, breaking down vague asks (e.g., “why is margin declining?”) into scoped hypotheses, data plans, and decision-ready outputs.
- Dashboarding & Reporting: Build and maintain a self-service culture via automation, dashboarding, processes, and data tools that give stakeholders a dynamic view of their domain’s performance, moving beyond static reporting toward scenario-based and "what-if" analysis.
- Profitability & Financial Controlling: Monitor company-wide profitability, support P&L oversight, identify margin erosion risks and high-LTV opportunities, and enable leadership with unified financial narratives that explain how operational performance drives business outcomes.
- Data Integrity & Infrastructure: Partner with the functional teams to ensure our data architecture supports agile and scalable analytics across the organization.
What Success Looks Like:
- Profitability and growth are directly shaped by your work: Your analyses and models influence where we allocate resources, how we scale advertiser partnerships, and how marketing budgets are deployed, leading to stronger margins, better ROAS, lower CAC, and smarter scaling decisions across the business.
- Decisions are driven by evidence, not opinion: Sales, Marketing, Growth, and Finance leadership rely on your work before making major investment calls. Complex data is confidently used by leaders and translated into compelling, decision-ready narratives that drive management and board-level discussions.
- Risks and opportunities are surfaced early: You proactively identify trends that impact advertiser success, margin health, and business outcomes, flagging risks like margin erosion and unlocking opportunities like high-LTV pockets before they become obvious.
- Commercial, marketing, and financial performance are unified: Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance operate on a shared semantic layer so that KPIs, processes, data provenance, and data products are coherent and enable faster discoverability of opportunities.
- Data quality and attribution are rock solid: Tracking gaps are identified and resolved, ensuring reliable performance measurement across internal systems, independent of domain, and financial reporting.
- You turn ambiguity into structured action: Open questions become clear frameworks, experiments, and decision-ready insights. You elevate the analytics bar through automation, modeling, and cross-functional collaboration, increasing the speed, depth, and impact of decision-making at scale.
- You operate across domains without losing time: When redeployed to a new stakeholder team or business question, you absorb domain context quickly and begin contributing decision-ready analysis within weeks, not months.
What You Bring
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Business Analytics or Product Analytics with Experience across more than one business domain (e.g., finance, product, marketing, or commercial operations). Experience with mobile gaming apps and/or B2B advertisers is highly desirable.
- Commercial & Performance Fluency: Strong understanding of how performance KPIs (ROAS, LTV, CPI, CPR, margins) connect to P&L and profitability outcomes, paired with working knowledge of how mobile measurement works, attribution models, incrementality, traffic quality signals, and platform ecosystems, without requiring deep specialization in any single stack.
- Technical Expertise: Strong skills in end-to-end analytics stack; i.e. SQL and Python for data manipulation, automation, and predictive modeling; BI tools (i.e., Tableau, Looker) for executive-level dashboarding and reporting.
- Communication & Influence: Ability to present data insights convincingly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, influencing decision-making through structured, data-driven argumentation.
- Work Approach: You thrive in an international, fast-paced environment and are comfortable in taking the lead in ambiguous situations.
What You Can Expect
- Ambitious people, real ownership. Work with driven people who challenge each other openly and take full ownership of meaningful parts of the business.
- A company that prioritizes growth, performance, and impact. Comfort isn’t the goal here, progress is. We set a high bar and focus on delivering real results.
- A highly ambitious environment with a clear goal. Building the next European tech challenger is not just an idea, it is our mission. Everything we do is driven by the ambition to compete at the highest level and win.
- Direct exposure to leadership and real decision-making. You’ll work closely with experienced leaders, contribute to strategic discussions, and see how decisions shape the business in real time.
- Perks that help you focus on what matters. Transport subsidy, learning budget, wellness and gym, workation, bi-weekly team lunches, and more. The perks are great, but the real reason people join and stay is the challenge, the ownership, and the drive to win together.
Please note: this is not a remote only position, we offer you a flexible hybrid model here in Hamburg, Germany - working from home on Mondays & Fridays, coming to the office on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday! :)
